Our History

Calvary Chapel Tracy began as a church plant from Cornerstone Fellowship in Livermore, CA.  In the Spring of 2001 Pastor Rob Krenik and Pastor Mike Guthrie, who were both on staff, began praying for God's direction.  After visiting several East Bay cities the Lord brought them to Tracy to a Marriage Small Group who had been asking God to bring a Biblical based church to Tracy for some time.

Our early beginnings found us meeting on Sunday evenings at a Methodist church in East Tracy.  We held our first service on September 23, 2001, only one week after the 9/11 tragedy.  Six months later we launched our Sunday morning service on Easter 2002 at Jacobsen Elementary School in West Tracy.  That same Sunday,  Pastor Rob and his wife discovered God had blessed them with their first child after six years of being unable to conceive!

Also around that time we began to rent some office space and as we grew the Lord provided more space in the same facility for us to expand our ministries.

In 2006 Grace Baptist Church provided 2 acres of property that we began to lease.  This currently serves as our office building and mid-week ministry location.

In 2007 we were blessed to move our Sunday services to Anthony Traina School, where we hold our Sunday services to this day.
